How to get to Naxos

Ferries, flights, and the usual tradeoffs.

From Athens by ferry

  • High-speed from Piraeus: 3 to 3.5 hours, multiple departures daily in summer.
  • High-speed from Rafina: 4 hours, fewer departures.
  • Conventional ferry from Piraeus: 5 to 6 hours, overnight options, car-friendly.

From Athens by air

Daily short-hop flights from Athens airport (ATH) to Naxos airport (JNX). Roughly forty minutes. The airport is small, runs seasonal capacity, and cancels occasionally for crosswind.

From other islands

Hopping from Mykonos, Paros, Ios, Santorini, and the Small Cyclades is easy and frequent in season. Book ahead on weekends.

Getting from the port to your hotel

Taxis wait at the pier. The town is walkable from the harbour; outer-beach areas need a car or bus.
