Captain George Fragkiskos started sailing out of Naxos Town in 1982. A generation later, his son Theseus runs our private charters. The boat is Annabella.
Naxos Sailing is a family business in the oldest sense of the phrase.
We've been sailing out of Naxos Town for more than forty years. When Captain George started, in 1982, bareboat charters were a newer concept in Greece and the fleet was a quarter the size it is now. The harbour was different, the boats were different, the island was different. The mornings at sea weren't.
Two shared sailing tours a day during the season, plus private charters. All on a single yacht — Annabella — so the experience stays consistent. Group size capped at eight, because a boat any fuller stops feeling like sailing and starts feeling like a bus at sea.
We don't include lunch on board because the tavernas on the islands we visit are better than anything we could carry. We don't pile the day with stops because the best moments come from staying longer in one bay, not rushing through three. We finalise the route in the morning based on the wind, not the night before based on marketing.
George's son, Captain Theseus, joined the family operation professionally in 2018. He runs many of our private charters now, and has brought a more modern shape to the way we work without changing what made the day a good one in the first place.

Captain George Fragkiskos was born and raised on Naxos, and has been sailing the Cyclades professionally since 1982. Over four decades of bareboat and skippered charters, he has built a reputation for quiet expertise — the kind that comes only from long familiarity with the Aegean, its weather, and the small bays on charts nobody else bothers to open. He still runs Annabella most days in season.

Born into Naxos' seafaring family, Theseus took his first steps aboard a sailboat. He has been operating professionally since 2018, on monohulls and luxury catamarans, on private weekly charters across the Cyclades and the Ionian. He runs a share of our private charters each season.
