Rina Cave & Small Cyclades — the quiet side by sail
Into Rina Cave in the morning, onwards through the channel of the Small Cyclades — Iraklia, Schinoussa — and home under sail as the meltemi eases.
Everything on board, everything in the price.
A small-group sailing day — eight guests maximum, a captain who knows the route, and a boat that still actually sails.
- Licensed skipper
- Fuel and mooring fees
- Snorkel gear
- Snacks and cold drinks on board

What makes this one different.
- Swim inside Rina Cave — photographs do not flatter it
- Crossing into the Small Cyclades channel
- Iraklia and Schinoussa from the water, not the ferry
- Snorkel in coves that have no road access
- Return under sail with the afternoon wind
A typical 9 hours.
Your captain adjusts for wind and sea in the morning — the shape stays the same.
- 09:00
Cast off from Naxos Town
Coffee on board and a short briefing. We head south along Naxos' leeward coast.
- 10:30
Rina Cave
Drop anchor off the cave mouth. Swim inside — the acoustics alone are worth the day. Time to snorkel around the walls before we move on.
- 12:30
Into the Small Cyclades
Cross the channel toward Iraklia and Schinoussa. Lunch break ashore at a fisherman's taverna, or on a quiet bay — your captain suggests the best option for the day.
- 15:00
A final swim
A last stop at a cove chosen for the conditions — sheltered if it's blowing, exposed if it's a flat afternoon.
- 18:00
Naxos Town
Back to the old harbour under sail.
Routes finalise each morning based on the meltemi. We prioritise comfort and safety — and the better bay.
Three promises we hold ourselves to.
We'd rather cancel than push a bad-weather day. You'd rather book knowing that.
Up to 48 hours before departure.
If we cancel for weather, you’re refunded in full.
No middlemen, no booking fees, deal with the captain.
What it actually looks like.
What people say.
We've done a lot of day sails in Greece — this one stood above. Small group, real sailing, no pressure. We skipped the typical tourist spots and ended up at a quiet beach for lunch that I still think about.
Our two teenagers are picky. They did not put their phones down — because they were filming the dolphins. The second-best decision of our Naxos trip (after coming to Naxos).

Common questions.
Is Rina Cave safe to swim inside?
Yes — the captain only enters the cave when conditions are right, and there are life jackets on board for anyone who wants one. It's a calm swim, not a challenge.
Do we actually land on the Small Cyclades?
Usually yes. Depending on the day we moor at Iraklia or Schinoussa for lunch. If the wind is unfavourable for mooring, we pick a bay and lunch is on board.
Is this the right tour if I get seasick easily?
The Small Cyclades channel can pick up a little chop when the meltemi blows. If the forecast is strong, the Blue Lagoon route is gentler.
