The best beaches in Naxos
Not a list of every beach. A short list of the ones worth planning around.
Plaka
A four-kilometre strip of pale sand, the longest on the island, and still the one we’d recommend if you’re picking only one. Calmer at the northern end.
Mikri Vigla
South of Plaka, windier, loved by kitesurfers. A harder swim on meltemi days; a gorgeous beach on calm ones.
Agios Prokopios & Agia Anna
Closer to town, busier, and for good reason — shallower water, easier for families, more tavernas.
Alyko
Low-key, with cedar trees behind the sand. A walk from anywhere; feels it.
What you can only reach from the water
Rina’s bay on the south coast, the north coves of Koufonisia, and a handful of small bays on the western coast of Naxos. These are the ones we build our sailing tours around.
